Description

This is the most amazing and exciting trip to Machu Picchu with biking and trekking we can discover lots adventures among the mountains, valleys and rivers. Crossing small villages, coca plantations, coffee and a lot of kinds of fruits. Walking on the ancient Inka trail which connects the lost cities of the Incas. We will also take a relaxing bath in the hot spring which is good for arthritis. This trip is definitely considered one of the most adventures routes to Machu Picchu. We will observe the daily living of Andean and local people. Doing these kind of trips we can contribute with local people by buying fruits, mineral water, using the local restaurants and family hostels. Tour Plan

  • Pick-up and Departure: Between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m., we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco to head towards the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where you will enjoy stunning natural and cultural landscapes along the way.
  • Transfer to Abra Málaga: After a 3.5-hour bus ride, we will arrive at Abra Málaga, the starting point of our biking adventure.
  • Biking Descent: We begin the exhilarating 65 km bike descent, entering the high jungle and passing through picturesque towns, fruit fields, and rivers.
  • Arrival in Santa María: Upon reaching Santa María, we will take a bus to Santa Teresa. Once at the hostel, you have the option to relax in the Cocalmayo Hot Springs, known for their medicinal and therapeutic properties (optional, US $10).

This morning after breakfast we will continue our trip to the Hydroelectric (power plant). This part of the trek is called the waterfall day where we will pass many cascading waterfalls with one falling from 45 m above being the largest. Once we reach the Power Plant we will have some rest and eat lunch. We will continue our trip two more hours until we reach our final destination the Machu Picchu town known as “Aguas Calientes” (at the foot of Machu Picchu). We will arrive here at 5:30pm approximately, there we will spend the second night.

  • Hiking distance: 19 Kilometers / 12.3 mile
  • Climate: hot in the day and warm in the night.

  • Hiking time: 6 hour approximately.
  • Máximum Altitude: 2050 meters / 6725 ft.
  • Mínimum Altitude: 1430 meters / 4691 ft.

We will wake up at 4:30 am to have enough time to climb the steep path to MACHU PICCHU Sanctuary it takes around an hour and a half. We will enjoy the sunrise and follow our private guide within the Machu Picchu for 2hours approximately. After you can wander freely until noon. This is time to relax, take photos and climb up to Wayna Picchu summit (depending on if you have a permit to climb) or just stroll to the Intipunku or the Inca’s Drawbridge. We will return to Machu Picchu pueblo depending on the time you booked. It could be 21:30 pm or different. When booking your trip you will get more info and we will be glad to receive your suggestions.

  • Shuttle to Machu Picchu: 25 minutes from Aguas Calientes.
  • Shuttle to Cusco: 3 hour by train and bus from Aguas Calientes.
