It is important to attend the briefing because, at this moment, you will learn about each moment of the trip in detail. Afterward, we will depart towards the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where we will be able to appreciate beautiful natural and cultural attractions. Then, we will arrive at the Abra Málaga at noon approximately, reaching an altitude of 4350 m. This is the starting point for biking, we will descend towards the high jungle, passing through small towns, fruit fields, rivers, and streams.

Later, we will arrive at Santa María, a beautiful village in the jungle. You will be able to see the route from Cusco to Hidroeléctrica on the way. We will continue our trip and take transportation to our hotel in Santa Teresa. Once installed, we can visit the Cocalmayo hot springs, famous for its therapeutic waters. After a relaxing bath, we will return to our hostel, and spend the night surrounded by the jungle.

DAY 02 - We will zipline in the morning and hike to Aguas Calientes. Santa Teresa - Hidroeléctrica - Aguas Calientes

After a hearty breakfast, we will spend a fun morning ziplining for about 2 hours in the company of our professional tourist guide, who will give you careful and personalized attention throughout the tour. On this day, we will have a splendid view of the glacier waterfalls. Also, we will see the coca and coffee local plantations. Moreover, we will be arriving at Machu Picchu Town in the afternoon. It is popularly known as Aguas Calientes also. We will spend our last night in a hostel here, at the foothills of the great Machu Picchu.

DAY 03 - Visit to the Machu Picchu Citadel. Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco

We will have an unforgettable experience on this day; watching the sunrise at Machu Picchu. We will wake up very early, and have breakfast in the hotel at 4:00 am. Afterward, we will go to the Machu Picchu bus station. Moreover, we will take one of the first buses to the Citadel entrance (keep in mind that it is the only bus line that operates this route and there are usually people waiting)

The second option is to climb to Machu Picchu, but this is a steep hike and takes about 2 hours. Despite your choice, we will finally get to the entrance, and we will meet our guide again. Once entering the site, you will enjoy a memorable first sight of the sunrise.

Once in the citadel, we will take a two-hour guided tour and have free time until lunchtime. Travelers who have tickets to visit Huayna Picchu, will climb that mountain for an hour and a half and take a brief time to enjoy the views.

After that time, we will meet the entire group again, and board the bus back to Aguas Calientes. You can learn a lot from them along the trail, so be patient and friendly.

FAQ's

What to expect in the Cusco jungle?

The subtropical forests are characterized by hot and humid weather. You should be well prepared for mosquito bites with a good repellent, pack a big water bottle, hat, sunglasses, and layered clothes to protect you from the sun.

How is the weather in the Cusco jungle?

Take into consideration that Cusco has two main seasons throughout the year.
In the first place, the dry season is the one that goes from May to October. It is very popular for visitors because you will find sunny clear days, and a beautiful blue sky every day. Nevertheless, tours, accommodation, and other touristic services are in high season.

On the other hand, the rainy season is between November and April. This season is marked by a warm temperature, but rainy days. You will sometimes see an overcast sky, and expect some rainfalls. However, this is the low season and the tourist sites are not crowded.

In any case, the Inca Jungle Trek is perfect any time of the year, because the rainforest weather is consistent throughout the year.

How hard are the extreme sports in the Cusco Jungle?

It is not considered challenging at all, but we recommend having prior biking experience. Moreover, a great attitude to enjoy the journey the most! And of course, remember that our team is ready to give you personalized attention throughout the whole tour.
